The one I use most is sight, and my camera is my superpowe – I often use it to help me to focus on details of my surroundings. On Saturday, as we were out at a nature reserve watching a heron, I saw how the zoom was catching the colours of this beech tree, with a seed head looking like a butterfly skeleton at the bottom right hand of the image.

Nature is beautiful in every season. Today, as I have a day off, I will head outside in the crisp autumn sun and plant some bulbs. Aloha!

Celebrate the season wherever you live (Autumn in the northern Hemisphere, Spring in the southern) by getting out in the streets today and photographing the beauty that is the moment.

If you’re housebound, turn your camera to the window. Compose your shot. Make it beautiful.

It’s  very changeable weather here today – one minute bule sky, the next drizzly rain. Here’s my favourite orner of our garden, with Fair Flora (needing repainting!) in front of our ‘orchard corner’. The wee apple tree still has apples on it and the cherry is a lovely colour. The huge fuchsia is called ‘Delta’s Sarah’

I blogged my responses to the TDC thoughout August, and I kind of missed doing that today so here’s this one.  Today’s TDC says:

Today is the first day of meteorological autumn in the northern hemisphere. Make us something autumnal – maybe a picture or a poem.

I don’t have any autumnal photos for this year yet – though we noticed that the trees were starting to drop their leaves when we visited Mugdock earlier this week I didn’t take any pics. But here’s a pic I took yesterday of a fat, juicy, ripe blackberry against a bule sky.

Autumn Kigo⤴

Today’s TDC asks us to make some autumn kigo. I really wanted to get out my pencils and crayons for this one, but I am trying to compress a day’s work into a morning so that I can enjoy the Reclaim conference this afternoon, so I quickly grabbed one of my recent pics of autumn leaves and used LunaPic to add some filters to it. I then dumped these into powerpoint, screenshot the slide and uploaded it to Flickr. Then I used Alan’s flickr cc attribution helper to attribute it.
