Into the Sun⤴

from

Today’s TDC says:

Make a dramatic photo at sunrise or sunset.

I was in the car driving down the A9 at 10am today, so I grabbed this one from Flickr and tooted it. Findhorn Bay earlier this week, as we were walking home.

Accidental Photo Art⤴

from

Today’s TDC says

Invariably I take unintended photos when grabbing my phone or those weird compositions featuring a blurred thumb selfie. Can you make/shae art from an accidental or unntended photo?

I usually delete any blurry pics I take, but here’s a long exposure one I took at the weekend by mistake. It was very windy!

I headed over to Lunapic to artify it

Lasts⤴

This week we’re up in Findhorn on what will be our last seaside holiday of the year. On Saturday I took this photo as we walked along the sea front.

5 Card Flickr Story⤴

from

Today’s TDC  says

Time to write a 5 card Flickr story  If you have done one before, you know it is fun. If not, you are in for a treat. Need examples? We haz examples.

I couldn’t make it work, though, I kept getting errors like this:

Fatal error: Uncaught mysqli_sql_exception: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ‘<br /> <b>Warning</b>: Undefined array key’ at line 1 in /home/cogdog/subdomains/5card/utils.php:239 Stack trace: /home/cogdog/subdomains/5card/utils.php(239): mysqli_query(Object(mysqli), ‘SELECT * FROM c…’) /home/cogdog/subdomains/5card/play.php(175): get_image_info(Object(mysqli), ‘<br />\r\n<b>Warn…’) {main} thrown in /home/cogdog/subdomains/5card/utils.php on line 239

So here’s my own 5 card Flickr story, from 5 pics I took yesterday.

No Googling though. This is DS106

I love all of the seasons, but the autumn colours are spectacular. Here’s a picture I took at Ross Priory at the weekend

Poet and environmentalist Wendell Berry has died at age 92 Make some art in his memory – maybe illustrate one of his poems or write one inspired by his words.

I love The Peace of Wild Things, so I looked through my Flickr albums and found a photo of a heron, taken last year – probably at Mugdock.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
