Cinquain⤴

from

A cinquain is a five-line poem. Line one has one word and is the title. Line two describes the title in two words. Line three uses three words to express action. Line four uses four words to express a feeling. Line five uses one word that restates the title. Here’s mine for TDC5305

Hot
So hot
Very, very hot
This is too hot
Melting!

Geranium Haibun⤴

from

July weather is unpredictable, from sweltering heatwaves to torrential rain. I take my chances where I can and step outside to enjoy my garden. At the moment my geraniums are glorious – shaded from the worst of the heat by the forsythia above, spreading out across the garden. Today they are shining in the sun.

On a sunny day
Flowwers turn their faces up
Basking in the light

Poem Portrait⤴

from

For todays TDC I headed over to Google’s Poem Portraits, as the prompt suggested, and gave it the word breakfast. I let it take my photo while it generated this poem.

Our breakfast stems were drowned with the stars,
My fancy wastes the sun. The fire is formed.

I live my life as a …?⤴

from

I am busy this week, and wishing I could switch off all of my work notifications and hide. So here’s my response to today’s TDC.

I live my life as a …?

If I lived my life as a cat
I could sleep all day, curled up on my mat

If I lived my life as a frog
I could hide away quietly, safe in a bog

If I lived my life as a bird
I could nest in a bush, unseen and unheard

But if I lived my life as a snail
I could try to hide, but I’d leave a trail
