Modern Apprenticeship – HR Programme Support Officer, Saughton House, Edinburgh, Closing Date Friday 7th Feb 2014

SDS are continuing to co-ordinate the application process for the Scottish Government Modern Apprentice vacancies, by working with those eligible individuals currently on the unemployed register, who may be interested in applying for jobs within this organisation.
Attached is another job specification for an Apprentice opportunity based in the HR Business Partner Team .
1 x MA HR PROGRAMME SUPPORT OFFICER
This post will provide administrative support to the Head of the HR Business Partner Team and the Business Manager.
This Modern Apprenticeship is based in Saughton House, Broomhouse Drive, Edinburgh, EH11 3XD
While this will be targeted mainly at the South East teams, other areas can also be notified if working with young people who are willing to travel.

Please can you alert the relevant teams to this vacancy and ask that they encourage eligible young people to apply (16-24, unemployed, who are capable of completing an SVQ Level 2 in one year). Young people contracted to work less than 16 hrs per week are also eligible as are those currently at school, at college or on an Employability Fund programme.

Unfortunately the Scottish Government cannot support to SVQ Level 3 young people who have already completed the SVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and they would therefore not be eligible.

Candidates should explain in their CVs specifically how they meet the competencies indicated in the post and should include a short covering letter. The specific requirements for this post are:

Essential Criteria
Ability and commitment to achieve all the outcomes of the apprenticeship including passing SVQ 2 in Business Administration
Ability to deliver excellent customer service
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders
Ability to prioritise competing tasks and workloads in a fast paced, proactive environment.
Confident in the use of IT Packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Desirable Criteria
The ability to understand and interpret information from various sources, including documents and guidance
The ability to navigate and use electronic web-based systems
