Barcelona in a Day

There are so many cruise ships all in the one port at the one time.  It is hardly any wonder the city is busy.  We are berthed beside three other vessels which are all roughly the same size as Ventura.

We quite like exploring places ourselves but Barcelona is very large so we joined an organised trip today.  in the brochure it was called the Barcelona Loop.  The idea was that the bus would drop us at three different spots where we could spend some time:
Parc Guell
Temple de la Sagrada Familia
Las Ramblas
The guide was great providing a really interesting running commentary throughout our time on the coach. Although I had heard of the architect Gaudie I wasn’t at all aware of who he was or what he had done.  I now know differently.
On walking down Las Ramblas we found an undercover market called Bo Que Ria.  There was so much fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish.
After we returned to the boat and had some lunch we went back out for a walk along the Rambla de Mar near the World Trade Centre of Barcelona.  This gave us the chance to see a number of yachts and tall shops which are in port for the weekend.
It has been a lovely day and we now have tired legs and have only scratched the surface.
